Huncilman Metal Fabrication – Indy 500 Mailer
The client is a metal fabricator supplying the automotive industry. They asked for a brochure to promote their new e-coat painting capability. Rather than a brochure, I suggested this metal sculpture paired with an info sheet. It mailed flat, was easy to assemble and displayed many of the client's additional capabilities. And, it was produced in-house by the client. Where a brochure might be filed (or thrown) away, this sculpture would likely be displayed in a customer's office indefinitely.

Brown & Williamson – New Product Intro Mailer
I engineered this piece so that when opened, the cigarette packs inside rise up to illustrate the “ultra lightness” of the new product line extension.

Brown & Williamson – Coupon Mailer
To bring Lucky Strike's branding to life in direct mail, I developed this mailer with multi-level dimensional elements to engage the recipient and reward them with coupons. According to James R. Rosenfield in Direct Marketing magazine “... this mailing is one of the best art directed and most cunningly designed things I've seen in a long time.”

Barnes-Jewish Hospital – Nurse Recruitment Mailer
This nurse recruitment mailer was designed to capture the recipient's attention to a much greater degree than a typical mailed brochure. Assembled and shrink-wrapped, the mailer is the approximate size and weight of a CD in a jewel case, so it would stand out in a pile of letters and postcards. Once opened, the cross-fold format with multiple enclosures is meant to stimulate the interest of any potential recruit.

PriceWeber – Holiday Greeting
My original still life painting was reproduced as a limited edition print and mailed as an oversized holiday greeting to agency friends, clients and vendors. I designed the chipboard packaging to be configurable into an easel to display the print. The envelope was green-printed Tyvek to mimic the color and texture of the skin of a pear. This piece won an American Advertising Federation District Addy and was featured in Print's Regional Design Annual.

PriceWeber – Holiday Party Invitation Mailer
I came up with the theme for this party invitation, sourced the tin toy and designed the entire package. I'd begun the tradition of sending a toy as part of the annual party invitation several years before and kept it up due to favorable response from clients.

Satellite Shelters – Radiology Mailer
To appeal to the medical testing industry, I used a medium that medical professionals would relate to: a convincing X-ray image printed on acetate in a realistic medical records envelope.

To ensure automotive journalists would take notice of Rotary Lift's new residential enthusiast brand of automotive lifts, I packaged the press release with a giant wrench.
